Lawrence was born in Gove in 1994, his mother is Abigail Mundjala and father is Tom Garrawurra, his country is Garriyak and he speaks Djambarrpuyngu. He is a new painter, and paints Garrawurra designs. Lawrence learned with senior Gupapuyngu artist Joe Dhamanydji how to paint his own Minytji
