Gapuwiyak Culture and Arts

My name is Dhapara Garmu and I am a fibre artist living in the remote community of Gapuwiyak. My mother is Wendy Guyula and my father is Johnny Garmu. I came to Gapuwiyak when I was a little girl from Elcho Island with my parents. My Moiety is Yirritja and my subsection is Bulanjan. I love to weave and collect materials in the bush around Gapuwiyak and I live with my husband Larranda who is also an artist.
