Ngapa tjukurrpa. Water rain dreaming. This painting is a part of a limited series of works inspired by Warrick’s great great grandfather, Abbie Tjangala. Warrick is now a custodian of these dreaming, and after conversations with his family, they, and Warrick, believe that these stories need to be seen by the public once again. He blends contemporary and traditional techniques to dreaming the classical paintings created by his great great grandfather. Here, we see a combination of negative space and texture – an earthy feel and tone produced by the locally sourced ochres that made this piece so striking.
