Anyupa Stevens
Tjala Arts, Kaltjiti Arts & Umoona Community Art CentreAnyupa Stevens was born in the bush at a homeland called Double Tank near Fregon. Anyupa’s grandmother is the famed late artist Eileen Yaritja Stevens from Tjungu Palya, and her father Keith Stevens and mother Tjanpuwa Stevens are both senior APY artists. Her father’s Country is Piltati, an important waterhole close to Nyapari community and a strong theme in her work. Her mother’s Country is Aeronga in the Northern Territory. Anyupa lived in Nyapari and worked with Tjungu Palya for many years and recently returned to her birthplace of Fregon, continuing her painting with Kaltjiti Arts.
