David Mabubu is a senior Mälarra clan ceremonial leader who owns land and sea country around Milingimbi, including nearby Murruŋga island. He is of the Dhuwa moiety and djuŋgaya (ritual manager) for his mother’s Yirritja moiety Wobulkarra clan from nearby Laŋarra island. Mabubu is one of the senior bosses for the Mälarra clan Larradjadja (Barracuda) totem and often leads Mälarra into ceremony.
