Dorothy Naburula Dixon

Arlpwe Art and Culture Centre

My name is Dorothy Dixon. I was born in 1965, at Yuendumu. I later moved to Ali Curung, I have worked at The Art Centre, Homemakers and at the local school.  I find time to paint at the Art Centre and at home. My work is displayed in the Arlpwe Art Gallery. My paintings are mainly ‘seed story’ and ‘bush tucker’. From time to time I assist at the Art Gallery in the capacity of a Cultural Advisor, especially during the school term when the Art Gallery put on ‘Cultural’ information evenings where they invite non Indigenous to come along and enjoy an informal evening on Cultural awareness. These evening session have been very beneficial for everyone. I am now a very proud grand-mother of 3 beautiful grandsons, who all live close by.
