Emma is an emerging artist working out of Mimili Maku Arts and has quickly become one of the leaders of the art centre. She grew up in Mimili, and holds knowledge passed on through uncountable generations. Emma presented work as part of the Ellen José Art Award held at the Bayside Gallery, a celebration of the most exciting female visual artist under 35 in Australia today. She also won the People’s Choice Award at the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards in 2024. Most recently, Emma has been focussing on creating family collaborative paintings alongside her mother Pauline Wangin, and auntie Betty Campbell.
