Graham Beasley

Arlpwe Art and Culture Centre

Graham Beasley was born in 1960, not far from Ali Curung community. From five years old to nineteen years old, he had to live in the bush, with a friend only four years older than him. It was their parents’ choice. He had to learn how to survive, find food and water by himself. He chased birds and collected bush tucker. At 19 years old, he came back to the community, went to school and worked as a nurse for 30 years. Today he is one of the elders, a respected member of Ali Curung community. He enjoys painting and craft as it is a way for him to share his experience and knowledge with others.
