Joyce Robin
Tjala Arts, Kaltjiti Arts & Umoona Community Art CentreBorn in 1962 in Coober Pedy, Joyce Robin was inspired to become an artist by watching her father paint when she was a child. Joyce grew up in Ernabella and Fregon communities on the APY Lands with her mother Tinpulya and spent some time in Watarru, the Country of her grandmother. She now lives in Fregon with her children and grandchildren.
Joyce paints the rockholes and animal tracks from this Country. Over the last few years her style has evolved from using a brush to dot technique painting to depict important cultural stories. Joyce is a dedicated early-career artist and artsworkers and one of Kaltjiti Arts talented new stars.
