Katrina Greeny
Utopia Art CentreKatrina grew up with her grandmother and grandfather Katheen and Greenie Purvis at Three Bores. Her family took her hunting, carrying her when she was a baby, showing her sacred sites and her grandfather’s country of Alhalkere. Katrina went to school at Utopia Homestead before moving to Atneltyey homeland school to finish her studies. “I saw my family doing painting, my great aunty Emily Kame Knywarreye painting at that place and saw my aunties doing batik too.” She helped her old people with their paintings. Her grandfather told her all the stories of her country, about bush bean, bush plum, dingo stone that come out in her paintings.
