Larritjpira Munungurr

Alongside Meŋa, Larritjpira is the senior ceremonial leader and song man for the Djapu clan based at Wandawuy outstation community. His singing can be heard on the recording ‘Wandawuy’ produced by The Mulka Project. This album won best traditional recording at the NT music awards.

Recently Larritjpira has been producing bark paintings and larrakitj painted the grid type pattern that refers to the river on his clan land, the sacred miny’tji for the Djapu clan at Wandawuy. He is showing an innovative approach in the way he is painting this design.
