Marjorie Wongawol

Marjorie was born at Barwidgee Creek, prior to her family moving to Wiluna. She grew up at the Karalundi Mission, attending school there, completing her schooling at the Seventh Day Adventist Mission in Perth. She has been painting ever since her school days, and is one of the longest standing painters in Wiluna. 2008 Exhibited Geraldton Regional Gallery.

2018- Represented Wiluna community to the Indigenous Creative Fellowship from the Wiluna region. Exhibited for ‘State Library’s From Another View’ submitted two paintings.

2019- Exhibited 2 artworks at the Gallery Central exhibition.

2020- not active, occupied with family relations.

2021- produced 6 paintings

attended Jundee Mining exhibition and sold one of her artworks there.

2022- produced 4 paintings

Around October I was out bush collecting quodongs for jewellery making.

Attended Professional Development the Aboriginal Art Centre Forum

I went out for Ranger work for a couple of months.

2023- returned to the gallery to paint.

Some days when I am not around I look after my grand daughters.
