Tjukurba Art CentreMy name is Patricia Corlett and I moved to Wiluna in 2018 and am now living and working here.
I have painted most of my life as a hobby, In my spare time I enjoy doing photography mainly capturing landscape, and Fine Art Photography.
I enjoy expressing my love of culture and history through my paintings and photography, most of my paintings depict stories and song lines passed down to me by my grandparents and parents. I also enjoy teaching my children how to paint and the importance of keeping our Culture strong.
2019- started painting at my own house using my own art supplies and doing my painting. I wanted to support the local Art Gallery so I joined.
Attended the AACHWA Our Future Forum & Artsworker Training Program that was held in October.
We learned so many skills and it was a great experience for myself as a Artist and Artsworker. During our training we helped install and exhibit the opening of the WA Museum in Perth.
2020- October- Exhibition with Murlpirrmarra Connection, Delkeith Nedlands Jnr Football Club parents and local service providers. Sold 3 of my paintings during the exhibition.
Commission work for our work colleague who was very interested in one of my paintings I had done and reckon she could really relate to the beautiful and meaningful work.
2021- completed 3 paintings.
From 2020 to 2021 AACHWA Corporate Member.
Changed occupation and worked with Salt Lake Potash as Communities Liason Officer, establishing and facilitating between Wiluna community and Salt Lake Potash.
2022-Started working at the Shire of Wiluna as Discovery centre Administration Officer.
Produced 8 artworks.
22-23 Honouring My Grandmother was one of my paintings that was entered into the Revealed Market exhibition in May and was sold online.
2023-
January-Participated in the Basket Weaving workshop that was facilitated by Community First Development together with the Shire of Wiluna where the volunteer Jane did workshops such as Basket weaving, Jewellery making, Bird stitch and stuffing, Felting etc.
May-Attending Revealed Exhibition and was chosen amongst a panel of judges for Revealed to have her artwork exhibited.
