Samantha Wungundin Allies
Mowanjum Art and Culture CentreSamantha Allies Wungundin is an emerging Ngarinyin artist and Artsworker at Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre. In 2014 Samantha won the Kimberly Art Prize, Emerging Artist Award, for her carved boab nut, ‘Wandjina Dreaming.’ Recently she was selected for the 2015 Revealed Emerging Artist Development and Exhibition program in Perth.
Her duties at the art and culture centre include preparing artist materials, facilitating art workshops for visitors, assisting artists in the studio and on country, maintaining artist information. Recently Samantha has enjoyed learning colour mixing and curatorial practice. Samantha comes from a family of artists including her mother, Nancy Wungundin, and sister, Tanisha Allies Wungundin.
