Sheena Dodd
Mimili Maku Arts*1966, Sandy Bore
Sheena is our local bird specialist. She is most renown for her quirky and colourful paintings of different birds local to the area around her homeland of Sandy Bore. She specifically paints tjintir-tjintir (willie wagtail) and ipuru (spinifex pigeon). Sheena’s family has been working in land management forever, most recently on programs to manage buffelgrass and wild cats, thereby creating safe habitats for tjulpu (birds) and waru (black-footed rock wallaby). Wiru mulapa! (Truly great!)
