Sheree Napanangka Anderson

Napanangka Sheree is the granddaughter of Biddy Nungarrayi Long/Jurrah who was a long standing artist and founder of Warnayaka Art in Lajamanu. Napanangka is now the Chairperson of Warnayaka Art and does an incredible job looking out for the interests of the art centre and the elderly artists.  Sheree paints when she has a spare moment between working full time and raising her 4 sons and her Board obligations. Her art work is traditional in contemporary styles.  It is always thoughtful.  Napanangka is a women understands 2 worlds, Kardiya (foreigners world ) and Yapa – the world of Warlpiri in Lajamanu.  She understands her cultural roots and knows Warlpiri Law.  She also works, reports  and studies in English and Warlpiri.
