Thelma Norman

I am Thaayorre woman, I was born in Cairns and spent my whole life in Pormpuraaw. I went to boarding school in Herberton. I enjoyed school and I loved home economics and maths. I have worked at Pormpur Paanthu as a Support Worker and also as a Receptionist at RISE Employment.

I started at the Art Centre because my older sisters are artists here. I am really enjoying creating art and spending time with them. When I started at the Art Centre I was only making ghost net sculptures. In the past two years I have started to paint in acrylics and also do printing on fabric and paper. I enjoy making all forms of art.
