Wendy was first drawn to painting in order to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps. He was an artist and use to carve aswell. Wendy’s aunty Mary Moreen is also a member at Jilamara and is a tranditional owner of Wulirankuwu – the country upon which Jilamara is built. Aunty Mary is a strong culture woman who leads throught Tiwi culture and Wendy is looking forward to using her art-making as a plateform for celebrating these stories.
